Complimentary Parking

Guests of Bumbleberry Inn enjoy complimentary parking, and with a shuttle stop at the top of the property, and only 1 mile from the park entrance, you can park your car and forget it for the remainder of your stay when visiting the main canyon (shuttle operates seasonally).
For those wanting to park at the Visitor Center, parking often fills up by 9am. The Greater Zion App can provide helpful information on parking availability and other visitor information.
Paid parking is also available throughout the town of Springdale (for those not staying in town, or unable to get parking at the Visitor Center).

Angels Landing Permits

Starting April 1st 2022, a permit is required to hike THE CHAINS PORTION of Angels Landing. Those hiking from the Grotto to Scout Lookout DO NOT need a permit. Permits are issued through a lottery system. There is a seasonal lottery, and a day-before lottery. Lottery applications are $6 and are non-refundable. If you are selected in the lottery, there is a fee of $3 per person. Lottery entries can be made at Recreation.Gov.

The Narrows
There are two ways to hike The Narrows: A 16-mile through hike (permit required) and a Bottom-Up out and back hike (most common). The Narrows hike crosses in and out of the Virgin River and is not suitable to hike at certain times of the year, such as during spring run-off or when a flash flood is possible. Flash floor potential ratings can be found below.

Trip Planning

There are two great phone apps that can help with planning your time in Zion, the surrounding area, and other National Parks. "National Park Service" the official app, provides an interactive map as well as information to help you plan your visit, not only to Zion, but all other US National Parks. The "Greater Zion" app provides real-time shuttle, parking and trail information for Zion, as well as other activities in the surrounding area.
